Do You Know What You Need to Be Thinking About?

Do you know the full power of a smile?

A smile is so powerful that it breaks ice! Smile at a cold person and just watch what happens… watch them warm up.

Smiles are a universal language. Some may even say that you are not fully dressed until you put on your smile! A smile costs nothing but accomplishes so much. It’s a simple, low-energy and cost-efficient way to feel better.

Studies show that when you smile your heart rate goes down, and your breathing slows down. A smile decreases stress.

Dr. David Song, a plastic surgeon and assistant professor at the University of Chicago Hospital, states that it takes eight muscles to smile and nine to frown. He explains that when you smile genuinely, it takes two muscles to crinkle your eyes, two to pull up your lip corners and nose, two to elevate the mouth angle and two to pull the mouth corners sideways. When you frown, you use two muscles to pull down your lips and wrinkle your lower face, three to crease your brow, one to purse your lips, one to depress your lower lip and two to pull the corners of your mouth down. He also says a fake smile uses only two muscles and can be detected because your eyes don’t smile.

Ten outcomes of wearing an authentic smile include:

  1. A smile makes you attractive
  2. A smile changes your mood
  3. A smile is contagious
  4. A smile relieves stress
  5. A smile boosts your immune system
  6. A smile lowers your blood pressure
  7. A smile is a natural drug that releases endorphins, natural painkillers and serotonin
  8. A smile lifts your face and makes you look younger
  9. A smile makes you look successful
  10. A smile helps you be positive

LET’S PROVE IT … Try this test: SMILE… Now think of something negative without losing your smile. It’s hard. When you smile, your body sends you a message that life is good… so you can’t help but continue to smile!

So “Take charge of your mental and physical wellbeing with your smile!”

Because of your smile, you make life more beautiful.
